(STATS) -- It will be interesting to see what the NCAA Division I FCS selection committee thinks of the potential playoff field later this week.What the rest of us think doesnt matter.On Thursday, the selection committee will release the first of three weekly Top 10 rankings -- much like what happens on the FBS level. Its a new feature of the committee leading into Selection Sunday on Nov. 20. The first rankings will be aired on ESPNs College Football Live, which begins at 3 p.m. ET.Sam Houston State is top-ranked in the STATS FCS Top 25 and in other leading FCS polls. But the Bearkats, playing in a relatively down Southland Conference, are lacking a high strength of schedule, so the committee may not have them atop its first rankings.The STATS postseason projection has had the Bearkats as the fourth seed in recent weeks, behind North Dakota State, Eastern Washington and Jacksonville State.In support of Sam Houston, its handled every challenge with relative ease and hasnt trailed in a game this season. Washington RedskinsQB Confidence Index: 5.1Nothing against Kirk Cousins in 2015, but he did it in the NFC East, and if Washington were truly confident, it would have talked contract instead of slapping a franchise tag on him. Hes 11-14 as a starter, and his backup is Colt McCoy. This could fall apart in a hurry.21. Kansas City ChiefsQB Confidence Index: 5.1With Alex Smith, youre getting confidence when it comes to avoiding turnovers (no more than seven INTs in a season since 2010). On the flip side, he has had 20 or more TD passes only twice.22.?Minnesota VikingsQB Confidence Index:?4.5From?Teddy Bridgewater?to?Shaun Hill?to?Sam Bradford?in the span of a week, not much has really changed with this one. Bridgewater was just 21st in the league in pass attempts while starting all 16 games last season. Buffalo BillsQB Confidence Index: 4.5No one is confident of anything in Buffalo. Tyrod Taylor is a bit like Minnesotas Teddy Bridgewater in that little was asked of him in 2015.
