The Boston Breakers sent Kristie Mewis and Kassey Kallman to the Washington Spirit in exchange for defender Megan Oyster and the No. 3 and No. 9 picks in the 2017 NWSL college draft.Oyster is on loan to the Newcastle Jets of the Westfield W-League in Australia. The 13th overall pick in the 2015 college draft out of UCLA, Oyster played two seasons for the Spirit.Mewis, a midfielder who played at Boston College, played for a season with FC Kansas City in 2013 before joining the Breakers the next season. This year she played in 14 games with a goal and an assist.Kallman has played all 40 matches over the past two seasons for the Breakers.
